Faulty or damaged items If your book arrives damaged or with a printing fault, please get in touch within 30 days of receiving it at janekinnonbooks@gmail.com, and we'll happily arrange a replacement or refund, whichever you prefer.

• Return postage is at the customer's expense

• Once we receive your return, refunds are processed within 5 business days

Please note: as a small, independently run business, we're only able to offer returns for faulty or damaged books, rather than change of mind. We appreciate your understanding. Every return is looked at personally by Jane, and we'll always do our best to sort things out for you.

Rita's story starts on a remote cattle property near Clermont, and that's also where every book is lovingly packed and sent from by Jane herself, in between farm life, working dogs, and the odd unexpected muster.

Because we're a little out of the way, our local post office is only open two days a week. We do our very best to get your order to the post office within 2–5 business days of ordering.

Delivery timeframes:

• Within Queensland: up to 10 business days

• Interstate: please allow a little longer, as parcels travel further from our remote location

Ordering for a special occasion? If you're ordering for a birthday, Christmas, or any other date that matters, we'd love for Rita to arrive on time — so please order 2–3 weeks in advance where you can. Life on the land (and Australia Post) doesn't always run to a strict schedule, and we appreciate your patience.

Shipping cost: A flat rate of $10 covers up to 3 books in one order, shipped anywhere in Australia via Australia Post. We currently only ship within Australia.
